SOL - Save Our Lives
Europe faces annually over 34.000 road fatalities. The number of fatalities in the programme area Central Europe Space (CEUS) is higher than in other European regions and has increased in the past years. Therefore, the “European Road Safety Charter” (www.erscharter.eu) aims to decrease the number of road crashes by 50% in the midterm, which the project SOL „Save our Lives – A Comprehensive Road Safety Strategy for Central Europe“ supports.

SOL has the objective enhance capacities of local and regional stakeholder to prevent road accidents in Central Europe. The project was launched in April 2010 and has a duration of 3 years.

In 12 pilot areas of 7 countries (POL, CZE, SVK, HUN, SVN, ITA and AUT) targeted strategies will be developed implementing effective programmes to build a transnational road safety network.
