Pilot  area

The SK pilot project area is defined at the East part of Slovakia. This region is counted of 2 subregions. The project SOL activities will be concentrated primary at Prešov Self-government Region. The other one - Kosice Selfgovernment Region - will complement the pilot area.

Local – City of Prešov
City of Prešov (Prešov) has a suitable bussines location at the roads to the East Europe territory. The strategic position in the hearth of Central Europe helps him also to participate at quality development of citicen live.
In the circle of up to 100 km there is possibility to enter into Poland, Hungary and Ukraine.  There is also possible to access to 350 milion of European citicens in the distance of 1-day travel by goods lorry.
Prešov has 91 650 of citizens and is the third city in the Slovak republic in accordance of amount of population number. The territory counts over 70 km squere and the density of citizens is 1 286 / km squere. Height above sea level : 255 m. First written document of Prešov is dated from the year of 1247. Geograficaly the city lies in Kosice Fold and is rounded with Slánske Mountains and Šariš Highlands. Torysa and Sekcov Rivers flow throught city. GPS position: 49° 00' 00" n. w.  a   21° 14' 00" e. l.

Region – Prešov Selfgovernment County(PSC)
County is fenced with two countries -Poland and Ukraine. Also with 3 Slovak Selfgovernment Counties. PSC creates territory of East Slovakia with Kosice Selfgoverment County. Both PSC and Kosice Selfgoverment County are representing a east nature of people in Slovakia.
There are 13 districts, 23 cities and 666 villigies. Total amount of citizens is almoust of 800000. The density of population is 89 citizen at km squere. PSC is the largest county in the Slovak republic. In the territory of PSC is situated the highest top of Slovakia named as Gerlach. It is part of famous „smallest“ rocky mountains in Europe called as „High Tatras“.
